Cadillac introduced their first full-size 4-door SUV, the Escalade, late in 1998 as a 1999 model.
Early Escalades, especially the 1999, were equipped with 4-wheel drive, a 5.7-liter V8 engine with 255 horsepower, and 4-speed automatic transmission. They sold from January 1999 to December 2000, and the car itself was known to be Cadillac's only SUV until 2003.
