Released in late 1995, the Suzuki X-90 SUV only sold for two years in North America. It competed with Toyota's RAV4.

All X-90s included aluminum 1.6 liter, 16- valve, overhead cam engine with multi-point electronic fuel injection, electronic ignition, 5-speed manual transmission, power steering, MacPherson strut and coil spring front suspension with stabilizer bar, and independent trailing arm/wishbone and coil spring rear suspension.

The exterior included convertible T-tops, five-spoke aluminum alloy wheels, sticky, low-profile 195/65R15 radials, rear spoiler w/integrated brake light, twin teardrop side mirrors, tinted glass, color-matched bumpers, powerful halogen headlights, daytime running lights, locking fuel door, rear window defogger, and variable intermittent wipers with washers.

The interior included dual airbags and three-point seat belts, bucket seats holding passengers in place like an F-16's, power windows and door locks, sleek Euro-style dash with tachometer, center console with dual cup holders, and a carpeted trunk.

Available colors were Silver Pearl, Miami Blue, Midnight Black Metallic, Lava Red, and Oregon Green.

1996[edit | edit source]

The X-90 was introduced as a 1996 model with a 95-horsepower, 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine and rear or 4-wheel drive. The 4WD version also had an optional 4-speed automatic.

1997[edit | edit source]

The 4-speed automatic transmission became an option to the 4x2.

1998[edit | edit source]

The last model year for Suzuki's smallest SUV due to very low sales.
